{"id":182,"date":"2015-07-30T15:03:24","date_gmt":"2015-07-30T15:03:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/macyplace.com\/tom\/blog\/?p=182"},"modified":"2015-07-30T15:03:24","modified_gmt":"2015-07-30T15:03:24","slug":"judicial-power-at-our-expense","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/tom.macyplace.com\/Blog\/index.php\/2015\/07\/30\/judicial-power-at-our-expense\/","title":{"rendered":"Judicial Power at Our Expense"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Our #constitution begins &#8220;We the people&#8230;&#8221;\u00a0One of its purposes is to\u00a0&#8220;secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/tom.macyplace.com\/Blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/roberts_AtPeoplesExpense.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-183\" src=\"http:\/\/tom.macyplace.com\/Blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/roberts_AtPeoplesExpense.jpg\" alt=\"roberts_AtPeoplesExpense\" width=\"220\" height=\"275\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The dissenting opinions\u00a0in the same sex marriage ruling, stress the danger resulting from activist judges, judges that make decisions based on their own ideas of right and wrong as opposed to Constitutional\u00a0law. Liberty, rights, and power were all tied up together in our Constitution by its framers.\u00a0How much of this liberty (the peoples&#8217; power)\u00a0is being taken from us by judges\u00a0that\u00a0interpret law through glasses of their feelings rather than by the Constitution!<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Ben Carson has talked about the possible need to impose #TermLimits on justices.\u00a0But term\u00a0limits would\u00a0bring with it its own\u00a0danger. A president\u00a0would still be\u00a0free to appoint people that think as he\/she does and still stack the court, perhaps to a worse degree than happens\u00a0now. To have the\u00a0legislative, judicial, and executive branches\u00a0ALL aligned with one party based on an election would not be a good thing. Term Limits might be a beneficial depending on how they would be implemented.<\/p>\n<p>Really, the problem is a mindset by liberals and conservatives that each of their points of view is the only right point of view. We each want people in power that can make our viewpoint law.
